Training Content
1. Training Content: Medical Underwriting
- Gynaecology – frequent disorders, screening tests and regulatory aspects
- „Due to the generally frequent preventive medical check-ups, gynaecological findings and illnesses are frequently encountered in underwriting. However, not every indication is risk-relevant and new research findings often require a new assessment. Further knowledge, up to date and applicable in daily practice is therefore indispensable “
- Frequent and “easy to underwrite” ECG findings and cardiac arrythmias
- „ECGs often lead to CMO requests. But with a few tips, tricks and finesse, it is possible to categorise many of the ECGs and make a decision as early as the application processing stage.“
- Underwriting blood clotting disorders (haemophilia and thrombophilia)
- “The number of genetic family screenings for blood clotting disorders, such as the Factor V Leiden mutation, is on the rise. Consequently, underwriters are increasingly confronted with these tests. It is therefore essential to gain a comprehensive understanding of the appropriate approach to underwriting these conditions, including the identification of key information and potential red flags.“
- How to underwrite incidental ultrasound and MRI findings
- „Modern imaging is increasingly being used. As a result, there are more findings being submitted. It is essential to differentiate and determine genuine pathologies from purely incidental findings.“
- Outlook: Modern antibody therapies – impact on Life, CI and disability
- „Antibody therapies represent the future of individualized therapy and are already being successfully used in some areas. We provide an outlook on future successes and current possibilities.“
